WHO Europe Publishes New Report on Armenia’s Urban Food Environment
A new WHO Europe report examines food sold across Yerevan and explains how local evidence can support safer, healthier urban food policy.

The World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe has published a new report examining the urban food environment in Yerevan, Armenia. The FEEDcities project report looks at the foods people encounter in fast-food outlets, kiosks, bakeries and supermarkets, connecting everyday food access with nutrition, food safety and public policy.
Published on 24 February 2026, the technical document is part of WHO Europe’s wider FEEDcities initiative. The project studies urban food environments across Central Asia, the Caucasus and south-eastern Europe. Its purpose is to produce comparable evidence about what foods are available, how they are made or sold, and which policy choices may improve the conditions in which people eat.
